Komatsu is committed to the environment
Komatsu is working on a Joint Venture in Indonesia to develop Bio Diesel fuelled dump trucks. The source for this fuel is the non-food source plant, Jatophra, which grows faster than alternative Bio-Fuel sources and can be cultivated in less fertile soil. Jatophra Bio-Diesel is also better suited to warm weather climates.
Komatsu estimates that 1,000 Bio-Fuel powered dump trucks will cut 200,000 tonnes of CO² emissions per year, equivalent to the carbon emissions generated by the company’s factories in Japan.
